Big Apple
Luft-Federung direkt eingebaut. Mit dem Big Apple begann vor zehn Jahren der Trend zum Balloonbike: komfortables Radfahren ganz ohne aufwändige Technik! Das Luftpolster der Reifen wird als natürliche Federung genutzt. Mit ca. 2 Bar rollt ein Balloonbike wunderbar leicht und mit voller Federungswirkung. Ein normaler Reifen mit einer Breite von 37 mm muss mit 4 Bar knallhart aufgepumpt werden, um ähnlich gut zu rollen.

Die passenden Schläuche
SCHWALBE Schläuche sind deutlich mit einer Gruppennummer gekennzeichnet. Welcher Schlauch zu welcher Balloonbike-Reifengröße passt, zeigt die Tabelle.
Die Ventile
Beim Balloonbike spielt der Luftdruck eine wichtige Rolle. Erst der richtige Luftdruck sorgt für den maximalen Komfort. Beim klassischen Fahrradventil (DV) ist es schwierig, den Luftdruck korrekt einzustellen. Deshalb empfehlen wir, Schläuche mit Sclaverand- oder Autoventilen zu verwenden. Beim Autoventil kann der Luftdruck sogar bequem an der Tankstelle eingestellt werden.
Der Luftdruck
Wie viel Luftdruck maximalen Komfort bringt, hängt von Körpergewicht und Gepäck ab. Zudem ist Komfort auch immer eine subjektive Empfindung. Unsere Empfehlung: Komfortdruck bei 2.0 - 2.5 bar.
Bei hoher Gewichtsbelastung durch Körpergewicht oder Gepäck muss der Luftdruck entsprechend erhöht werden.
